riddle me that, mankind
The biggest shock of Paris’s spring-summer 2014 fashion shows came on the otherwise calm and gentle Nina Ricci catwalk, when two topless activists from protest group Femen crashed the podium.
Grabbing a startled model making her way down the catwalk, they screamed “fashion fascism,” with words decrying the sexualization of the modeling industry written in make-up. One had “Fashion dictaterror” scrawled on her naked torso, the other “Model don’t go to brothel.”
One British model, Liverpool-born Hollie-May Saker, was caught in the middle, with the protesters brushing against her lamé-and-lace skirt.
“The next thing I just see half-naked women with black marker pen scrawled across their bare chests and that’s when she came at me….As she grabbed my arm she lifted my skirt exposing me – I pulled my arm back with such force that I landed a punch square on her nose,” Saker told the Echo. So, to fight back against the sexualization of the modeling industry, these women assaulted a model and forcibly exposed her?
Protip: You’re not fighting a patriarchal system by assaulting women and exposing them against their will.
I have literally never heard of a positive thing done by Femen. Seriously. They need to stop. First the blatant Islamophobia, and now this? Really?
If your idea of feminism includes racist bullshit and attacking women who don’t conform to your exact image of a feminist, guess what? You’re a complete asshole and you’re misrepresenting feminism as a whole.
God help you if you’re within earshot of a Hard Working American when they see a poor person with an iPhone or a fresh hairdo. WHY ARE YOU SPENDING MY HARD EARNED TAX DOLLARS ON BLAH BLAH BLAH. Maybe her friend did her hair for her, or maybe she bought the iPhone second-hand or received it as a gift. But the point is, this poor person does not look sufficiently poor. If you’re on food stamps or Medicaid or anything that even tangentially involves a tax dollar, Americans want to see you wearing rags, smeared with dirt, and eating gruel. How dare anyone who’s poor try to have some self-respect and look decent.
Certainly I have things a lot easier than the poor people everyone loves to judge as a spectator sport. But the principle at the heart of this kind of self-important behavior is the same: that people should look a certain way based on their perceived status. How dare poor people wear, eat, or own anything nice. We don’t just want people to be poor, we want them to look poor so we can feel better about our own status. Everybody just loves a good bitch-and-moan about what the undeserving Others are doing with their Hard Earned Money.
Father registers exciting photos of the birth of their 4 children in the sea
Births of babies are always exciting, especially when they happen in an environment so special and full of life as in the ocean. Russian Vladimir Bagrianski registered in fantastic photos pregnancy of his wife, and the birth of her four children in the sea, which took place between 1986 and 1992. The series was named “Sunrise at sea.”
Births took place in different locations, but always with the ocean as the main scenario. The family is very attached to the teachings of the obstetrician and psychotherapist Igor Tcharkowsky, pioneered the method of water birth in 1963.
